Listen to this article

The Material Handling Education Foundation, Inc. (MHEFI) has reached a major milestone by awarding a record-breaking $312,300 in scholarships to 73 students for the 2026–2027 academic year. This marks the largest scholarship distribution in the foundation’s history and reflects its ongoing commitment to developing the next generation of professionals in the material handling, logistics, and supply chain industry.

Founded in 1976, MHEFI is an independent charitable organization dedicated to connecting talented students with career opportunities in the supply chain sector. Over the past 50 years, the foundation has supported more than 1,500 students and educators pursuing careers in material handling, logistics, and related fields. Through its scholarship program, MHEFI demonstrates the industry’s commitment to investing in future leaders and strengthening the workforce.

The 2026–2027 scholarship recipients are full-time undergraduate students who maintain at least a “B” average in their major fields of study. Individual awards range from $1,500 to $6,000 and are applied toward tuition, academic fees, and textbooks, helping students focus on achieving their educational goals. Recipients represent a variety of disciplines, including robotics, automation, industrial engineering, logistics management, and other supply chain-related programs.

MHEFI’s scholarship program is made possible through the generosity of corporate sponsors and individual donors. Their continued support enables the foundation to expand educational opportunities for students while helping to build a strong pipeline of skilled professionals for the supply chain industry.

Individuals and organizations interested in supporting MHEFI’s mission are encouraged to contribute to the foundation’s scholarship program. Those seeking additional information about scholarships or donation opportunities may contact MHEFI Executive Director Mary Alyson Ammons at [email protected].
