MHEDA launches new Quarterly Industry Sentiment Survey to capture the pulse of material handling

Listen to this article

The Material Handling Equipment Distributors Association (MHEDA) just announced the launch of its first-ever Quarterly Industry Sentiment Survey, introducing a new member-exclusive initiative designed to provide timely, real-world insight into the current state of the material handling industry. Survey responses will power a new quarterly Industry Sentiment Report, providing members with real-time insight into business confidence, market trends, hiring outlook, and investment plans.

Open for approximately 30 days, the survey invites MHEDA members across the Industrial Truck, Storage & Handling, and Systems Integrator communities to share their perspectives on current business conditions and expectations for the months ahead. The survey takes less than five minutes to complete, and every response contributes to a more accurate picture of the industry’s outlook.

Survey results will be analyzed in partnership with Interact Analysis, a leading market intelligence and forecasting firm specializing in automation, robotics, warehouse technology, and material handling markets. The findings will be published in the inaugural MHEDA Industry Sentiment Report, a new quarterly resource available exclusively to MHEDA members.

Unlike traditional economic reports that primarily reflect historical data, the Industry Sentiment Report captures the perspectives of industry leaders in real time—providing an early indicator of changing market conditions, business confidence, and emerging trends.

  • Each quarterly report will include insights into topics such as:
  • Business confidence and current market sentiment
  • Revenue and growth expectations
  • Hiring and workforce outlook
  • Capital investment plans
  • Customer demand trends
  • Economic concerns and business challenges
  • Industry-specific opportunities and emerging trends

The value of the report grows with every response. Broad participation helps ensure the findings accurately represent the material handling industry while providing members with stronger benchmarking data and more meaningful insights. MHEDA encourages all member companies to participate in the survey and help shape this new quarterly industry resource.

The Q3 survey deadline is August 14, 2026. To learn more about the Industry Sentiment Report or participate in the survey, visit MHEDA’s Industry Sentiment Report page.
