Westfalia Technologies named a Top Green Provider by Food Logistics

Westfalia Technologies, Inc announced its inclusion in the 2014 Top Green Providers list by Food Logistics, the only publication dedicated exclusively to the food and beverage supply chain. In its second consecutive year on the annual list, Westfalia provides warehouse automation solutions that help reduce land usage, minimize energy consumption, and lower waste production.

The Top Green Providers focuses on sustainability in the global food supply chain with profiles of companies who are exceeding industry standards in their sector. This year’s list includes food producers and manufacturers, 3PLs and transportation and logistics providers, equipment manufacturers, and others whose products and services are driving sustainability from farm to fork.

“In the food and beverage sector, sustainability and environmental stewardship are primary considerations given the unique relationship between businesses in this sector and our planet’s natural resources,” explained Lara L. Sowinski, editor-in-chief for Food Logistics. “Our 2014 list of Top Green Providers includes agricultural companies, 3PLs, temperature-controlled facilities and others who demonstrate leadership in sustainability, which in turn positively affects their customers as well.”

Dan Labell, owner and president of Westfalia Technologies, said, “We are honored to be included on the Top Green Providers list for a second year. Sustainability is a top priority for Westfalia, which is why we are committed to incorporating green initiatives into our warehousing solutions. We hope the Top Green Providers will serve as examples for other companies in the global food supply chain as Westfalia continues to make strides not only in the advancement of logistics solutions for the food and beverage industry, but also the preservation of our planet.”

Westfalia, along with the other companies on this year’s Top Green Providers list, will be profiled in the June 2014 issue of Food Logistics.
