Larson Electronics has added to its extensive range of industrial grade lighting equipment with the release of a Class 1 Division 2 explosion proof four foot, six lamp fixture that provides operators with a very durable, reliable, and affordable lighting solution for open areas where flammable chemicals and vapors may occasionally be present.

The HALS-48-6L-T5HO from Larson Electronics is a hazardous area fluorescent light fixture that is Class 1 Division 2 Groups A,B,C, and D approved, has a T4A temperature rating and ideal for open air locations where flammable chemical vapors may be occasionally encountered. This fixture comes standard with six 54 watt T5HO lamps that produce a combined total of 30,000 lumens of light. The lamps are held in place by spring loaded sockets and protected by a hinged glass door with a 3/16” tempered glass lens that is secured in place with four turn latches. The housing on this unit is constructed of powder coated 18 gauge steel for durability and contains a hinged reflector and ballast tray for easy and safe servicing. This hazardous location fixture is multi-voltage capable and can be operated on voltages ranging from 120-277 volts AC. Wiring connections are made through ½” threaded access holes. This fixture is designed to be surface mounted. Each surface mounting bracket is attached on each end of the light fixture and allows the operator to adjust the angle of the entire fixture. Pendant and cable mounting options are also available for operators who wish to mount these fixtures away from the ceiling surface. This fixture is IP65 rated water and dust proof and carries ETL and Canada approvals for wet and marine locations. Ideal applications would include aircraft maintenance, oil rigs, refineries, solvent and cleaning areas, gas processing plants, chemical manufacturing and waste treatment plants.

“This six lamp fixture offers multiple wiring hubs to accommodate surface mounting and pendant mounting,” said Rob Bresnahan. “This fixture provides a total of 324 watts while each lamp offers a 20,000 hour rated service life.”
