imX – interactive manufacturing eXperience event cancelled

The Association For Manufacturing Technology’s Board of Directors announced the cancellation of imX – interactive manufacturing eXperience scheduled to be held in Las Vegas, Nov. 18-20. This event, first produced in 2011 by the American Machine Tool Distributors’ Association (AMTDA) and SME, focused on education and product applications. The cancellation of imX is a result of scheduling conflicts and the inability of key partners to commit staff and product to the event.

“We believe in and are committed wholeheartedly to events centered around manufacturing technology learning and collaboration,” said R. Stephen Flynn, AMT Chairman. “Because the timing of imX for 2013 is in conflict with multiple events in the region, we feel it is in the best interest of the industry as a whole to withdraw imX. Rest assured, we will take the industry and its customers’ interest in educational events and develop it to its fullest potential in a different timeframe.”

AMT President Douglas K. Woods said, “AMT is committed to producing quality events that deliver value for both exhibitors and attendees. Attendees have resoundingly told us that there is a need for more technological and application-driven events. Going forward, our intent is to develop these type of events and experiences that fulfill the needs of both manufacturing technology producers and consumers.”

Exhibitors currently contracted for imX will receive full refunds and information directly from AMT.
