International Bridge, Tunnel and Turnpike Association announces keynote speakers, agenda for 82nd Annual Meeting

The International Bridge, Tunnel and Turnpike Association (IBTTA), the worldwide association representing toll facility owners and operators and the businesses that serve them, officially announced keynote speakers for their upcoming 82nd Annual Meeting September 14-17 in Austin, TX. 

The meeting will be held at the Hilton Austin in downtown Austin, TX.  Featured speakers include:

  • Texas Governor Rick Perry
  • Doug Stephens, one of the world’s foremost retail and consumer futurists
  • Senator Robert Nichols, Chairman, Texas State Senate Committee on Transportation
  • LtGen. J.F. Weber, USMC, ret., Executive Director, Texas Department of Transportation
  • Henry Cisneros, Former Secretary of the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) and former Mayor of San Antonio will join a roundtable discussion on how the U.S. transportation system can stay competitive in the 21st century. 

“IBTTA’s Annual Meeting will be held in one of the fastest growing metropolitan areas in the U.S. Nearly 1,000 transportation leaders from around the world will gather in Austin, to explore the challenges and opportunities facing one of the most dynamic, market-oriented and customer-focused industries in the world,” said Patrick D. Jones, Executive Director and CEO of IBTTA. “Tolling has experienced huge growth and technological advances over the last decade and is now on the verge of even more dramatic changes that will enhance mobility options for people in metropolitan areas around the world.”

In addition to the list of high-level speakers attending this year’s 82nd Annual Meeting, there will be four tracks of breakout sessions focusing on: transportation financing and funding; policy and politics; technology and innovation; and customers and communication.  These four tracks will give attendees a comprehensive look at the innovative ideas and practices that are sweeping tolling and transportation.
