Konecranes’ AirBalancer allows nearly weightless movement of loads

Listen to this article

The Konecranes ATB AirBalancer is a lifting device that aids picking, lifting, moving and placing items by hand. The enhanced safety, reliability and smooth operation offered by the pneumatic powered mover make the AirBalancer ideal for assembly processes, repair and industrial production tasks across a broad range of industries.

For example, the aviation, solar energy and automotive industries’ process tasks require fast and smooth transfer movements of heavy parts with high precision. Konecranes’ AirBalancer meets these needs with movement speeds up to 2000 mm/sec (390 ft/sec) and an automatic load balancing feature that allows operators to freely and accurately move the load in zero gravity mode.

The automatic load balancing also contributes to Konecranes’ AirBalancer’s incredible usability and ergonomics. Konecranes is dedicated to producing equipment that is operator friendly — and succeeds with a wide range of intuitive control and grab device options. In addition, the AirBalancer’s equipment is compatible with many other crane systems, making it a very flexible solution.

Finally, the AirBalancer from Konecranes offers impressive safety and productivity features, including load weight compensation for predictable movement of loads regardless of variances in weight. The ATB AirBalancer also features an over-speed brake, available minimum pressure control and interlocks. The ATB AirBalancer will hold the load in the event of air supply loss. Combine this level of security with the other operational benefits and you get a flexible lifting solution that is ideal for even the most fragile operations.
