Yale Advanced Dynamic Stability takes top honors in product of the year competition

Readers of material handling publications vote the standalone operator assist technology the top automated data capture product of 2024

Yale Lift Truck Technologies announces that the company’s Advanced Dynamic Stability (ADS) system is the winner of the Readers’ Choice Product of the Year award as determined by readers of Material Handling Product News and MaterialHandling247.com. This lift truck operator assist technology, which helps maintain lift truck stability and minimize the potential for tip overs, was voted as the top product in the automatic data capture category.

ADS continuously monitors lift truck and load status and makes automatic performance adjustments when it detects conditions that could compromise stability. Previously available in packaged solutions with one or more other Yale Reliant operator assist technologies, the standalone ADS availability offers a more affordable and accessible solution for operations with needs that might not warrant an investment in the detection systems or infrastructure required for other technologies in the Yale Reliant suite.

“Demand for more warehouse labor and high turnover have led to an influx of inexperienced workers, which has put a higher focus on warehouse safety. Forklift operator assist solutions are a step warehouses can take to support inexperienced operators and help reduce the risk of accidents and close calls,” said Brad Long, Global Activation Manager, Yale Lift Truck Technologies. “The standalone availability of ADS makes it possible for a broader range of operations to put technology to work to help address safety risks.”

ADS automatically applies carefully measured interventions when it detects potential stability issues, including reductions to travel speed or smoothing of lift or tilt movement of the forks. These adjustments help compensate for operator errors such as taking a corner too fast, pulling product from high racking or tilting the mast too quickly or too far with a load in an unfavorable position. ADS is now available on more than 50 Yale lift truck models.

This award is the second for Yale ADS, which was previously named a recipient of the 2024 Top Software & Tech Award by Food Logistics and Supply & Demand Chain Executive in the warehouse automation category.
