Wynright appoints new vice president of Software Engineering

Wynright Corporation named 22-year software and material handling veteran Dane Houston as vice president of Software Engineering, bolstering its software group to meet growing industry changes. Houston will lead a group of software teams to ensure the delivery of the highest-quality, technically advanced software solutions that maximize value for Wynright clients.  A leader in combining engineering prowess, products and services, Wynright solves the material handling system challenges of the 21st Century.

“Dane is a welcome addition to address our corporate mission of helping our clients elevate their productivity in fulfillment, distribution and manufacturing plants, and bring efficiencies to the omni-channel supply chain,” said Kevin Ambrose, President and CEO of Wynright.  “As companies seek to engineer end-to-end automation solutions to move more products through the supply chain faster, Dane will play a major role in our organization to help coordinate all the pieces.”

Among his responsibilities will be Wynsoft™, Wynright’s modular, layered software solution.  It was the first to bridge the gap effectively between traditional warehouse control systems (WCS) designed to direct real-time activities in the warehouse or DC and warehouse management systems (WMS) or ERP systems that control overall operations.  By using integrated modules rather than separately written controls for each, Wynsoft delivers greater efficiency and accuracy as goods move throughout the supply chain, while also lowering costs.

Houston has held various executive positions in software and engineering disciplines.  Prior to Wynright, he was the Director of Controls Engineering at BoxLogix Automation.  He also has worked at Intelligrated, FKI Logistex, Pyramid Controls and Lexis-Nexis in various executive roles.

Houston earned a law degree from Northern Kentucky University and also holds a bachelor’s degree from the same institution.
