WIX® Filters, a global manufacturer of filtration products celebrating its 75th anniversary, has awarded $34,160 to national FFA chapters in the United States through a box-top redemption program in partnership with the National FFA Organization, which opens its 87th National FFA Convention & Expo today in Louisville, Ky.

“Our FFA box-top program is an annual success due to the participation of auto parts stores, shops, local agribusinesses and individuals who purchase WIX Filters in support of their local FFA organizations,” said Mike Harvey, brand manager for WIX Filters. “It is one of WIX’s most popular and successful fundraising programs, and we’re thrilled our partnership with FFA will enter its 29th year in 2015.”

Between January and April 2014, students in participating FFA chapters redeemed 116,640 WIX box tops for a donation from WIX of $29,160, or 25 cents per box top. In addition, five FFA chapters across the country each received a $1,000 bonus from WIX, bringing the total donation to $34,160.

As part of the program’s incentives, FFA chapters competed for five $1,000 bonuses in different categories, including most box tops redeemed overall and most box tops redeemed per member. The five FFA chapters that earned a $1,000 bonus are:

  • Cheney FFA, Cheney, Wash.
  • Centennial FFA, Utica, Neb.
  • Dade County FFA, Dade City, Fla.
  • West Central Area FFA, Barrett, Minn.
  • Chamberlain FFA, Tampa, Fla.

The National FFA Organization, formerly known as Future Farmers of America, is a youth organization of more than 540,000 student members in nearly 7,500 local FFA chapters across all 50 states, Puerto Rico and the Virgin Islands. The FFA mission is to make a positive difference in the lives of students by developing their potential for premier leadership, personal growth and career success through agricultural education.
