Onset announces new members of senior management team

Onset announced that the company has hired two new members of its senior management team. James Towey has been hired as the company’s new director of engineering, and Michael Washkevich as the new director of operations. With a strong background in product development, engineering R&D, design, manufacturing, and support, Mr. Towey brings more than 25 years of extensive technology and business leadership experience to Onset. Most recently, he served as vice president of engineering for Empirix, and previously spent six years at Starent Networks as director of IP multimedia development. “Onset is at the forefront of several transformative technology shifts within the data logging and monitoring space,” said Mr. Towey. “I’m very excited to work with the team and continue the history of providing innovative products for the markets we serve.” Mr. Towey holds a Master of Business Administration from the University of Connecticut, a Master of Science in Electrical Engineering from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, and a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from the University of Connecticut. An accomplished executive-level management professional, Onset’s new director of operations, Mike Washkevich, has a long history of consistent success in maximizing corporate performance and executing business strategy. Mr. Washkevich comes to Onset after working as vice president of global operations for Humanscale Inc., where he held budgetary responsibility for $80 million and instituted Lean methodologies that resulted in impressive revenue-generating improvements. “I am excited to join a company with a rich history of developing leading-edge products,” said Mr. Washkevich. “I look to complement this history with my 25 years of operational experience running world-class businesses.” Mr. Washkevich holds a Bachelor of Science degree from Central New England College and studied mechanical engineering at Worcester Polytechnic Institute.
