National Lift appoints new vp of operations

Listen to this article

National Lift, LLC and National Lift of Arkansas, Inc., both owned by the DuBose Family have appointed Baron D. Selman as Vice President of Operations for each company.  The immediate position will call for the direct management of all business and employees of the dealerships with direct reporting to the principal owners, Jeff Paul and Perry DuBose.  He will join the executive management team of Jim Dietz, John Shahinian, & Tom Smith.  Long-term strategies such as continual financial & geographic growth will be the biggest challenge for Mr. Selman, along with reducing debt service and maintaining the long tradition(s) of the DuBose family of companies.

National Lift, LLC and National Lift of Arkansas, Inc. are both a multi-line forklift & aerial lift dealer with locations in Western Tennessee and Central & Northern Arkansas.  Each dealership has their strengths such as a Rental focus compared to a Dealer Sales focus.  Mr. Selman will aim to bridge the gap that each company has and combine the best of both.  The additional companies that the DuBose Family owns are National Battery, and National Lift Truck, Inc., both located in Chicago, IL with two locations and a rental fleet of over 2,000 pieces.

Mr. Selman’s career started in wholesale lift trucks over 20 years ago with his father in New Jersey at Genesis Lift, Inc.  His education & background was sales, but quickly grew into IS/IT and Operational management throughout his career based on the company he was at.  After moving on from wholesale, Baron sought a more traditional style dealership with a deeper education of the industry.  First with an independent dealer in NY, then growing a multi-line major brand dealership also in NY.  Over the last few years, he did consulting work in NJ at an independent forklift company, working at major dealer in the DC/VA/MD area, and finally going back to consulting in and out of the industry.
