IBEW and NECA recognize IDEAL INDUSTRIES with Platinum Partner Status

Listen to this article

For over 70 years IDEAL INDUSTRIES, INC. and the Electrical Training Alliance (ETA) have helped new generations of electricians develop the skill sets required for career success. In recognition of its unwavering support IDEAL was awarded Platinum Partner status by the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers (IBEW) and the National Electrical Contractors Association (NECA) at the organizations’ 26th annual National Training Institute (NTI) held July 25-31, 2015 at the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor, Michigan.

Originally known as the National Joint Apprenticeship and Training Committee for the Electrical Industry (NJATC), the ETA was created in 1941 by IBEW and NECA to develop and standardize training to educate its members, assuring the electrical construction industry employs the most highly trained and highly skilled workforce. Today the Electrical Training Alliance has over 300 joint apprenticeship training centers in the United States and Canada, as well as more than 100 electrical industry organizations and manufacturers and dozens of public and private organizations that are committed to training future electrical workers.

Terry Stevens, Vice President of Sales for IDEAL accepted the award from Todd Stafford, executive Director of the ETA, at the Opening Ceremonies held at the event: “IDEAL is proud to renew our commitment to training future electricians and to elevate our relationship with the Electrical Training Alliance,” said Stevens.

As part of its expanded relationship with ETA, IDEAL created a new exposition booth for ETA training directors and instructors to experience at NTI. Via this trade show exhibit, IDEAL shared its new line of Made-In-USA pliers, along with its industry-leading wire connectors, wire installation, testers, data communications tools and other supplies central to efficient, safe electrical systems. All NTI attendees were given the opportunity to evaluate IDEAL products ‘hands on’ and learn about the support programs IDEAL offers ETA and JATC Journey-level training facilities.
