Listen to this article

Hyster Company announced the acquisition of Ohio Materials Handling (OMH) by Burns Industrial Equipment – a transaction designed to enhance coverage and strengthen support for Hyster® lift truck customers in the Northeast territory. Now part of the Burns Industrial Equipment group of companies, OMH’s Cleveland sales and service territory will continue to operate under the name of Ohio Materials Handling (OMH) from its Macedonia, Ohio, location. OMH president, Jim Orenga, will continue in his role to oversee operations. “By combining OMH with the expertise and resources of Burns Industrial Equipment, our customers can expect an even higher level of service and support,” said Orenga. “We couldn’t be happier about what the future holds for all of us.” “More than 40 years ago, Burns Industrial Equipment was founded on the premise of providing the highest quality products supported by unparalleled service,” said Chris Burns, president of Burns Industrial Equipment. “We’re now continuing that tradition, building upon OMH’s 35-year history of excellence to become the premier materials handling company in Northeast Ohio.”

“Burns Industrial Equipment is a strong name in the materials handling business, and this expanded coverage provides customers in Northeast Ohio with greater access to the power and durability available in a tough Hyster lift truck,” said Jonathan Dawley, president of Hyster Distribution. “The acquisition combines the local presence and experience of OMH with the robust capabilities of Burns Industrial Equipment that together will create a more complete experience for Hyster customers.”
