GS1 US appoints Greg Bylo Vice President of Healthcare

GS1 US has appointed Greg Bylo vice president, healthcare. In this role, Mr. Bylo is responsible for leading GS1 Healthcare US®, an industry-wide initiative combining pharmaceutical, medical device, provider, and patient care professionals that are collaborating to drive the adoption of GS1 Standards for improved patient safety and supply chain performance in the healthcare industry. The initiative is also focused on GS1 Standards implementation to support U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) Drug Supply Chain Security Act and Unique Device Identification (UDI) Rule requirements.

“Greg will be working with industry stakeholders to understand their collective objectives and offer strategic guidance on the use of standards and technology to improve business and clinical processes,” said Siobhan O’Bara, senior vice president, industry engagement, GS1 US.  “His expertise in standards implementation and leading global healthcare supply chain teams will be instrumental in helping the healthcare industry address regulatory requirements and transition to a safer, more efficient supply chain.”

Prior to joining GS1 US, Mr. Bylo was the senior director of global supply chain support services at Integra Life Sciences where he was responsible for supply chain planning of global products. He also spent more than 15 years at Becton Dickinson leading sales and operations planning and supply chain planning teams that were focused on decreasing organizational supply chain costs and increasing customer engagement.

Mr. Bylo earned his bachelor of science degree in mechanical engineering and material science from the University of Connecticut. He is a Certified Quality Engineer from the American Society of Quality, a member of the Association for Planning and Inventory Control and a certified Six Sigma Green Belt.
