Excel announced it has been positioned by Gartner, Inc., a research and advisory firm, as a “Leader” in its 2015 Magic Quadrant for Third-Party Logistics, North America report.

This Magic Quadrant evaluates third-party logistics (3PL) providers in North America. Exel was one of 19 companies that met Gartner’s criteria based on completeness of vision and ability to execute. North American 3PL providers are then positioned in one of four quadrants within the market: Niche Players, Visionaries, Challengers or Leaders.

According to Gartner, “Leaders do well on the highly weighted criteria for both Ability to Execute and Completeness of Vision. These full-service 3PL providers offer a broad portfolio of logistics functions ranging from traditional warehouse and transport execution through value-added services that span the end-to-end supply chain and have been tailored to fit specific industries. They understand North American market drivers, regional nuances and customer needs, and translate this understanding into well-executed service offerings that are locally fit for purpose and supported by the use of leading technologies. Leaders have well-structured strategies and business models that support the continued expansion of their regional capabilities and coverage. Leaders are trusted and relied on by customers to help them achieve top logistics performance within the U.S., Canada and Mexico.”

“To be designated a Leader in the Magic Quadrant is an honor since this report factors in customer experience,” said Scott Sureddin, Chief Executive Officer, Exel. “We believe our inclusion in this Gartner report confirms not only our extensive capabilities as a 3PL provider, but our expertise in providing customized solutions tailored to meet each customer’s supply chain needs.”
