Exel announces the appointment of Gordon Gruszka as President, Power Packaging. Gruszka takes the helm as this contract manufacturing business seeks to leverage its consumer packaged goods (CPG) market leadership and capture significant business and expansion opportunities.

Gruszka joined Power Packaging as chief financial officer in January 2014. He has extensive experience across a broad range of financial, accounting and operational activities including leading global multi-site manufacturing and distribution operations, supply chain management, procurement and commodity management, consumer sales and marketing, engineering support, strategic planning, and leading mergers and acquisitions. Prior to joining Power Packaging, Gruszka was Senior Finance Director for Motorola Mobility, where he played a key role in supporting that company’s merger and integration activities following its acquisition by Google.

Gruszka has a Bachelor of Science degree in Finance from the Northern Illinois University College of Business and a Master of Science degree in Accounting from the Walter E. Heller College of Business at Roosevelt University, Chicago. He will report to Scott Sureddin, Chief Executive Officer, Exel North America, and will continue to be based in the Power Packaging corporate offices in St. Charles, Illinois.

“As the nation’s largest contract manufacturer of consumer packaged goods, Power Packaging has a significant opportunity to create even greater value for customers in the dynamic and challenging CPG market,” said Sureddin. “Gruszka’s expertise positions him to ensure Power Packaging is agile, service oriented and creative as it continues to engineer the innovative solutions that will help CPG customers differentiate their products on the shelf.”

Exel’s Power Packaging business is the premier provider of manufacturing and packaging services to the world’s largest CPG companies. Currently, Power Packaging employs approximately 900 in Batavia, Geneva, and St. Charles, Illinois.
