EnerSys™ District Manager George Porter earns 2016 President’s Award

EnerSys®, provider of stored energy solutions for industrial applications, is proud to announce that George Porter, the company’s Chicago-area district manager, has received the 2016 President’s Award from the Chicagoland Chapter of the Materials Handling & Management Society (MHMS).

As an individual membership organization for the material handling practitioner and community, the MHMS provides career development resources and promotes awareness of industry career opportunities. In support of those initiatives, the MHMS Chicagoland Chapter hosts various seminars and visits to end-user facilities to help its members stay up-to-date on recent material handling advances. The Chapter also sponsors a number of events throughout the year to generate funding for college scholarships.

“George has been an active participant and energetic supporter of the Materials Handling & Management Society for many years,” said Dustin Pirc, president of the MHMS Chicagoland Chapter. “His reception of this year’s President’s Award is a recognition of how his ongoing efforts are helping the Chicagoland Chapter fulfill the MHMS mission.”

Commenting on the award, George Porter noted that, “I have been an MHMS supporter ever since I attended my first Chicagoland Chapter event, twenty years ago. I’m grateful to receive the President’s Award and proud to help the MHMS share material handling strategies and show young people how the industry offers an attractive career path.”
