In an industry first, DHL Supply Chain, the specialist contract logistics arm of Deutsche Post DHL Group, has received Top Employer certification across five countries simultaneously, including the United States, Brazil, China, Spain and the U.K. Together, these markets represent 54 percent of the division’s entire full-time workforce.

“We are delighted to receive this accolade that spans four continents. Our staff are the very heart of our business and investing in them is investing in our future,” said Rob Rosenberg, Head of Human Resources, DHL Supply Chain. “Knowing this, we’ve introduced a range of programs and initiatives to ensure they remain engaged, motivated and valued, wherever they work in the organization.”

For 25 years, the Top Employer Institute has recognized employers around the world who create excellent working conditions for their employees. Certification is based on a comprehensive audit of people processes spanning 600 aspects of Human Resources. In particular, DHL Supply Chain was singled out for its approach in the areas of Talent Strategy, Leadership Development, Career & Succession Management, and Learning & Development. The certification process consists of an extensive survey including a third-party audit.

DHL Supply Chain conducts a number of programs to enhance career development and personal engagement. Its in-house Certified Supply Chain Specialist (CSCS) training program offers staff the chance to expand their knowledge of all areas of supply chain operations from transport and warehousing to sales and finance. Programs such as the Global Volunteer Day and GoHelp offer employees the chance to live out DHL’s pillars of social responsibility: supporting their communities, protecting the environment and championing education.

”With 32,500 employees at 417 facilities across the U.S. and Canada, it is vital that the tools and processes we have in place set us up for success,” said Scott Sureddin, CEO North America DHL Supply Chain. “Specifically in the U.S., our top-performing areas include workforce planning, performance management and talent strategy. These all add up to outstanding opportunities for every member of our organization, and ensure our continued success and market leadership.”
