Crown Equipment extends relationship with U.S. Department of Defense

Crown Equipment Corporation renewed its relationship with the U.S. Department of Defense (DOD) with a five-year agreement that entitles the company to bid on commercial material handling projects for the DOD. “We’ve enjoyed a successful relationship with the Department of Defense for more than 10 years, which has enabled us to work on a number of fleet installations and material handling projects,” said Jim Mozer, senior vice president, Crown Equipment. “With the renewal, we now have an opportunity to grow our existing business with the government and strengthen our relationship with the DOD.” Details of the agreement, which are administered by the Defense Logistics Agency Troop Support, permit Crown to bid on commercial material handling equipment projects with the Army, Navy, Air Force and Marine Corps through fiscal year 2018. The DOD announced in February that the budget for commercial material handling equipment projects for the duration of the contract is $633 million. This budget covers the full range of material handling equipment well beyond Crown’s core business.
