• An open house for local customers
• Lift Truck Operator Instructor Training Certification Course will be offered Onsite

In addition to the activities at CLARK in Lexington, the Industrial Truck Association has a two full days of events scheduled in Washington, DC to support this endeavor. The Association has arranged activities June 9th and 10th that include keynote comments by OSHA and a reception with key government officials. In addition to events focused on forklift safety, ITA member companies will also be meeting with their congressional leadership to discuss a number of trade initiatives currently in negotiation. These trade initiatives including TTIP (Transatlantic Trade and Investment Partnership), TPA (Trade Promotion Authority) and TPP (Trans Pacific Partnership) are designed to address many of the export trade barriers that US lift truck manufactures currently face.

Scott Johnson, Vice President of Business Development for CLARK and a member of the ITA Executive Committee and Board of Directors expressed enthusiasm and great hope for National Forklift Safety Day. “CLARK is very proud to be an active member of the ITA and fully endorses this event. As an industry we should be very proud of our efforts and our results as it relates to the safe operation and design of today’s material handling products and operational practices. Through the efforts of all manufactures working together in the Industrial Truck Association we have been able to evaluate, refine and adopt product standards and operational standards that have resulted in safer products and safer work conditions for lift truck operators everywhere. It is appropriate to annually recognize these accomplishments and to remind everyone that safe products and safe operations are not a cost, but rather a benefit to all parties. The events we have planned at CLARK are designed to highlight the safety of CLARK products and to reinforce safe operating procedures for lift trucks.”
