Alta Equipment Company acquires CLM Forklifts, Inc.

Alta Equipment Company® (Alta) and CLM Forklifts, Inc. (CLM) announced that they have signed a definitive agreement under which Alta acquired the assets of CLM.  CLM is an independent forklift dealer that has serviced the Northwest Indiana market since 2009.  Alta will retain all CLM employees and move them into its Elkhart branch, located at 28255 Charlotte Ave., Elkhart, IN 46517.

“We greatly appreciate the loyalty of our customers over the years and hope to grow those relationships by continuing to provide the level of service they have come to expect.” says Gary Chevillet, former President of CLM, now Alta’s Elkhart Branch Manager, “I am excited about the opportunity because of Alta’s commitment to customer satisfaction and the breadth of products and services that they bring to this market”.

Headquartered in Wixom, MI, Alta is one of the largest industrial and heavy equipment dealers in the Midwest, employing over 500 people at 18 facilities spread across Michigan, Indiana, and Illinois.  Alta’s Industrial Equipment Division has an extensive product line-up including Yale® and Hyster® lift trucks, Manitou®, and Combilift®, in addition to a extensive line of warehouse products and solutions. Alta’s Construction Equipment Division represents Volvo Construction Equipment®, Link-Belt® cranes, Sennebogen® material handlers, Genesis® shears, and Gomaco® concrete paving products.
