Vibrant LED Panel Lights add long life and energy savings to industrial controls

LEDtronics answers the call for low-cost, long-lasting, and reliable solutions to retrofit panel mount applications with their new PNL-1106 Series of LED Indicator Lamps. The LEDs eliminate many of the shortcomings of conventional incandescent lamps and shine even further beyond.

Accommodating panels up to 0.3 inch (7.6mm) in thickness with an 11/16″ (17.46mm) mounting hole, the bolt-in bulbs with a 17.5mm mounting diameter and 0.19″ (4.75mm) wide spade tabs perfectly fit many front panels, offering versatile applications in machine tools, medical equipment, heating, ventilation and air conditioning, control panels, signal and pilot lights, and control panels, among many other instances where long-lived, energy-efficient light sources are required or when personal safety depends on a reliable status indicator.

These high-efficacy indicators feature a black, polyester resin body, and a fixed LED with a flat and fluted lens cap that is fixed, transparent, and cylindrical—this facilitates viewing and light dispersion. They can be easily installed with a twist-to-lock method to ensure a secure electrical contact. An integrated resistor prevents short-circuiting, eliminating the need for special fuses.

The lamps are featured in hi-efficiency red and green tints. Both colors come with an input voltage of 14VDC; other voltages and colors are available. The PNL-1106-OUR LED emits a 654nm luminous red color at a viewing angle of 16 degrees. It runs on only 0.4 watts, with an input current of 0.026 amps, offering 0.179 lumens and a spherical candela of 14.2 SCP. Available by custom preorder for volume orders, the PNL-1106-OUG LED emits a 526nm hi-efficiency green color at a viewing angle of 22 degrees. It runs on only 0.2 watts, with an input current of 0.017 amps, offering 0.210 lumens and a spherical candela of 16.7 SCP.

Utility monitors, industrial designers, and maintenance departments will find these lights to be excellent solutions for maintenance-intensive and critical-process applications. With its inherent energy efficiency, LED technology makes an excellent accompaniment to photovoltaic-based energy systems.

Additionally, LED lamps produce little or no heat, resulting in lighted panels and switches that are cool-to-the-touch, unlike those lit by incandescent lamps. They operate in dry locations at a temperature range of ~-40°C to ~+80°C (~-40°F to ~+176°F).

With lumen maintenance of greater than 70% and an average life span of 100,000-plus hours, colored LEDs operate reliably year after year, using only 10-20% of the energy consumed by equivalent incandescent lamps, and operating more than 20 times longer. Solid-state design renders LEDs impervious to electrical and mechanical shock, vibration, frequent switching, and environmental fluctuation. Integrated current-limited resistors prevent short-circuiting.

The savings from reduced maintenance costs, longevity, and requiring up to 90% less operating power than equivalent incandescents make the indicators as friendly to the environment as they are to the operating budget.

The new series of LEDtronics high-efficiency LED Panel Mount Indicator Lamps come with an unconditional 3-year U.S. factory warranty. The series is available through LEDtronics distributors, and quantity discounts are available.
