TEKLYNX sets the standard in barcode labeling for the food manufacturing industry

TEKLYNX International continues to develop innovative applications that support industry-specific initiatives. The company’s recent focus on the food industry has led to several successes, including the installation of their enterprise labeling solution for Sartori Company, one of North America’s leading manufacturers of fine artisan cheese. Sartori Company’s case study outlines the significant impact TEKLYNX CENTRAL has made on their product labeling process. “When I saw the user interface, I knew TEKLYNX CENTRAL was the right fit for our team,” said Ted Rostkowski, Systems Administrator at Sartori. “Through the implementation process, we’ve reimagined how we manage our data, which has made every aspect of our product labeling more effective.” TEKLYNX CENTRAL is a flexible software solution that can easily integrate into a company’s existing business processes. Since implementing the off-the-shelf solution, Sartori has seen a significant reduction in labeling errors and wasted stock, as secure label template access enforces a standardized process. The TEKLYNX label design software pulls data from Sartori Company’s existing ERP system to fully automate the label printing process. The company has also taken advantage of TEKLYNX CENTRAL’s centralized administration features, which coordinate licensing and support, resulting in faster installation, upgrades and template definition. “We are excited to provide a solution that has enhanced Sartori’s labeling process and improved their efficiency,” said Laura Henderson, General Manager of TEKLYNX. “As food labeling regulations change, solutions must be available to handle industry advancements and help food manufacturers thrive. The enforcement of regulations like the Produce Traceability Initiative has a significant impact on our end users, and we remain on the cutting edge of technology and trends in the food manufacturing industry to help support them.” The Produce Traceability Initiative (PTI) and other similar regulations have led many corporations to re-evaluate their labeling requirements. A major retailer recently announced that as of November 1, 2013, delivered produce cases must contain labels consistent with PTI standards, leaving suppliers in the food industry looking for labeling solutions that support them. TEKLYNX is the only label design provider in the industry that helps companies with PTI compliance. Voice Pick codes are a major component in the label design requirements included in the PTI. They combine the Global Trade Item Number (GTIN), the lot code and the pack date to create a unique 2-or-4 digit code. TEKLYNX’ CODESOFT 2012 and LABELVIEW 2012 are the only label design applications in the market that have Voice Pick code functionality built in, making it easy for users to adhere to new regulations. Whether it’s improving process efficiencies, like the example of Sartori Company, or supporting food manufacturer’s efforts to comply with regulations, TEKLYNX continues to be a thought leader and innovative force in the AIDC industry.
