New Octopus Compact 20/Compact TSi series designed for faster throughput in space-limited warehouses and distribution centers

Signode Industrial Group, a global manufacturer of a broad spectrum of packaging consumables, tools, software and equipment to optimize end-of-line packaging operations and protect product in transit, is pleased to launch the newest generation of its market-leading Octopus Stretch Wrapper.

The new Octopus Compact 20 / Compact TSi series is a completely new design that provides optimal load containment while optimizing the film usage in today’s increasingly space-limited warehouses and distribution centers.

Leveraging the market-leading Octopus design and ring technology, the new Octopus Compact 20 / Compact TSi series is a cost-effective and reduced-footprint solution that enables bottom-to-top or top-to-bottom automatic rotary ring stretch wrapping. Its compact and durable aluminum frame construction requires minimal assembly, guaranteeing ease of installation and minimal maintenance requirements.

“The continued growth of ecommerce and next-day or two-day delivery options is driving the growth of vertically-oriented and space constrained warehouses and distribution centers in urban areas across North America,” says Joe Albert, Vice President of Sales & Marketing, Global Wrapping Technology, Signode Industrial Group. “The new Octopus Compact 20 / Compact TSi series is an ideal solution to this new set of customer challenges.”

That reduced footprint doesn’t impede the results Octopus users have come to rely on, wrapping up to 40 loads per hour depending on load size and wrap pattern. The new machine comes fully equipped with Muller’s patented Easy S Film Carriage which enables simple film loading, maximizes pre-stretch performance and minimizes wear. Compared to traditional “W” wrap systems, the positive contact of the “S” wrap pattern improves pre-stretch levels, can better handle a variety of films, and significantly lowers the overall cost of ownership.

“We’ll continue to innovate based on what the market and our customers demand,” said Albert. “Our unique vantage point as both film and equipment manufacturer gives us great technical insight into how their seamless integration can most benefit our global customers.”

Signode Industrial Group has a long history of customer-focused innovations in materials, processes and automation technology that have revolutionized the load containment and transit packaging industries;  more than 5,000 Octopus stretch wrappers are currently in operation across the globe.
