OTR and P.S.I. bring TPMS technology to off-road pneumatic tires

Listen to this article

OTR Engineered Solutions (OTR) and Pressure Systems International (P.S.I.) have partnered to bring tire pressure monitoring systems (TPMS) to the off-road market. OTR will offer P.S.I.’s TireView® system in its full line of pneumatic tire and wheel assemblies to monitor tire pressures and provide telematics. OTR will also be an integrator of this technology for OEM customers, helping manufacturers seamlessly implement the product into their equipment offerings.

The TireView offering includes sensors that detect pressure and temperature in each tire. Real-time data can be viewed on an optional in-cab display, through a smartphone app, or integrated into the dash of the vehicle, allowing drivers to verify correct inflation and overall tire health, with alerts for quickly identifying potential issues. Additionally, telematics capabilities allow fleet managers and rental centers to view tire and location data remotely through the TireView LIVE™ portal for tracking their vehicle assets and monitoring tires. Installation and setup are simple, thanks to plug-and-play functionality.

Real-time tire pressure and temperature alerts are important for vehicles of all types and configurations, and with the addition of TireView LIVE telematics, OTR and P.S.I. can now offer a fleet-wide solution for tire management,” said Craig Smith, Vice President of Marketing and Communications, P.S.I. The collaboration creates synergies between OTR’s expertise in the off-road tire market and P.S.I.’s leadership in the on-highway segment. It offers numerous benefits to drivers and equipment managers in various industries, including construction, rental, material handling, power sports, and more, helping to increase safety and maximize the service life of tires.
