Mitsubishi Forklift Trucks, manufacturer of reliable and affordable forklift trucks for hard-working applications, announced the addition of its new 8,000 lb. capacity electric walkie end rider truck to its existing product line. The new PWR40 model offers customers added versatility in a wide variety of applications, including long distance transporting and low-level order picking.

“With the addition of the new PWR40 model, customers now have the flexibility to choose between a 6,000 or 8,000 lb. capacity walkie end rider, depending on their business needs,” said Jeff Bowles, product line manager for Mitsubishi Forklift Trucks. “This new larger capacity PWR40 model also delivers industry-leading travel speeds and an efficient design for greater productivity.”

Other key features of the PWR40 walkie end rider include:

  • Regenerative braking: When braking or coasting, these end riders feature a regenerative brake system that allows the end rider to come to a stop prior to the electromagnetic brake being applied. This results in less wear on the system and lower overall maintenance costs, while allowing the operator to remain in control.
  • Quick acceleration; leading travel speeds: The PWR40 walkie end rider offers industry-leading speeds of up to 9.3 mph and optimized programming for greater operator productivity and control. Additionally, this truck achieves high levels of performance and control on slopes due to the unique design of the motor and high output controller.
  • Added durability: The PWR40 series features the thickest fabricated forks in the industry. Combined with cast steel fork tips, these forks are designed to withstand the harshest environments, resulting in less wear and tear over its lifespan.
  • Enhanced ergonomics: A spacious operator platform and foot alcove allows operators to comfortably adjust their position throughout the shift. Optional features, such as a suspended platform, can be added to help reduce stress during long runs.

Additional options can be added to further maximize the value of the PWR40. The electric coast control option eliminates the need for the operator to step back onto the truck to move onto the next order, saving operator time and energy. For increased durability, a corrosion protection package features galvanized frames, pull rods, load wheel linkage and lift linkage and forks, making it a beneficial option for harsh environments.
