MCFA releases white paper on new advances in lift truck technology

Mitsubishi Caterpillar Forklift America Inc. (MCFA) released a new white paper aimed at educating warehouse managers on recent advancements in lift truck navigation technology.  The white paper, titled, “Determining The Right Lift Truck Navigation System For Your Very Narrow Aisle (VNA) Warehouse”, discusses the three available lift truck navigation technologies today – manual, fully-automated and hybrid – and the key factors for warehouse managers to consider when evaluating these systems for their application. The paper also explains several industry best practices for improving warehouse productivity and order picking accuracy in addition to reducing overall logistics costs. “Lift truck navigation is still a new technology, and it’s important for customers to understand the various types of systems available and the role they play in the warehouse today,” said Perry Ardito, general manager of Warehouse Products at MCFA. “Our goal is to help customers make the best informed and most cost-effective decision for their specific application, and education is a crucial part of the process.”  In conjunction with the white paper, MCFA has also recently released a demonstration video of the newly available Jungheinrich Warehouse Navigation System, which uses transponder Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) technology. The system controls the guided Jungheinrich VNA lift truck within the aisles of a warehouse. Utilizing the system’s technology, customers can expect up to a 25 percent increase in productivity, depending on the application environment. The video can be found with the white paper on the Jungheinrich product website.
