Mitsubishi Caterpillar Forklift America Inc. (MCFA), the provider of Jungheinrich® lift trucks and narrow-aisle products in the United States, Canada and Mexico, introduced the new Jungheinrich ETV 318-325 and ETM 325 Series of sit-down moving mast reach trucks. Featuring increased maximum lift heights, improved operator comfort and Jungheinrich’s 4th generation AC technology, the ETV/ETM 3 series of reach trucks is ideal for both narrow aisle and high-rack applications that require rapid maneuverability in confined work areas.

“The newly redesigned ETV/ETM 3 Series of moving mast reach trucks are equipped with advanced Jungheinrich technology for increased energy efficiency and a lower overall operating cost,” said Chad Munger, product line manager at MCFA. “In addition to longer run times, customers will also benefit from the truck’s increased performance. These reach trucks also have the ability to retain full capacity over 21 feet, making it an ideal solution for high-rack applications.”

The ETV/ETM 3 Series is one of the few sit-down moving mast reach truck series offered in North America. One of the benefits of the reach truck’s unique design is that operators remain seated, allowing for enhanced comfort and reduced fatigue, especially during long shifts.

The ETV 318-325 and ETM 325 models, ranging from 3,900 – 5,500 lb. capacities, also come equipped with a number of features for increased performance, enhanced visibility and improved operator comfort.

  • High performance: Increased maximum lift heights (up to 42 feet) and higher-rated capacities (over 21 feet) allow operators to perform efficiently in more difficult high-rack applications. The Curve Control feature, which provides automatic speed reduction during cornering, provides enhanced security for both the product and operator, especially in confined areas.
  • Energy efficient: Equipped with Jungheinrich’s powerful 4th generation AC technology for drive, lift and steering motors, the reach truck has the ability to operate up to two shifts on one battery charge in many applications. The ETV/ETM 3 Series reach trucks consume 10 percent less energy compared to the previous generation, with a 10 percent increase in performance over the previous generation. Optional regenerative lowering also can provide longer run times on a single battery charge, which is especially beneficial in high-lift applications.
  • Enhanced operator comfort: Designed with operator comfort in mind, the new moving mast reach truck series features a spacious operator compartment and wider armrest, which allows a variety of operators to comfortably drive the lift truck. A well-designed steering wheel helps ensure that the steer knob is always in the most ergonomic position for greater operator comfort and less fatigue.
  • Improved operator visibility: The new mast design and narrow roof allow for enhanced visibility through and around the mast. These reach trucks are designed with a wide visual range forward window for an excellent view of the forks and load. The reach truck can also be equipped with options, such as a panorama roof pane, spotlight and video camera, for additional visibility in congested work areas.
  • Additional productivity: The ETV 320 and ETV 325 models can be equipped with optional packages to help improve operator productivity and the efficiency of an application. This includes:
    • Efficiency package – Provides the longest possible operating time with a single battery charge.
    • Drive plus package – Appropriate for applications that require operators to transport materials over longer distances.
    • Lift plus package – Designed to increase performance in applications that require high lift heights.

The new Jungheinrich reach trucks can also be equipped with various options to improve overall reach truck performance, including the Drive Plus and Lift Plus options, which increase drive speeds by nearly 2 mph and loaded lift speeds by more than 30 fpm.
