Magnetek, Inc. announced the availability of a new line of cULus certified Dynamic Braking Resistors. These Dynamic Braking Resistors have been designed to meet UL508A and CSA C22.2 No. 14 safety standards. Magnetek’s Dynamic Braking Resistors work in concert with the Company’s Dynamic Braking Units to dissipate regenerative energy generated from motors controlled by IMPULSE® brand variable frequency drives.  The new line of cULus certified dynamic braking resistors was designed specifically for crane and hoist duty cycles and is available in grid, wire wound or edge wound resistor coils mounted in ventilated enclosures. The resistors are suitable for a variety of applications.

“We are pleased to offer our customers the added assurance of dynamic braking resistors that are certified to UL and CSA standards,” said Jason Wellnitz, Magnetek’s controls product and development manager. “These new resistors are available in all of Magnetek’s standard models or may be customized to meet the needs of specific applications. Customers can also pair our cULus certified resistors with Magnetek’s  cULus certified control panels to provide a complete motor control solution that meets industry safety standards.”
