Leading global manufacturer of electrical and mechanical drives, motion control and automation technology, Lenze Americas recently expanded its successful PC-based controller series with the recent release of the cabinet controller c300 and panel controller p300.  Lenze will have the new c300 and p300 on display at PACK EXPO (booth S-6033), September 23-25, Las Vegas, NV. “Delivering uniform engineering and superior system availability, our integrated controller portfolio makes motion control automation easier,” states Craig Dahlquist, automation team leader, Lenze Americas.  “Able to control an array of conveyors for better factory flow, the c300 and p300 are powerful enough to run PackML and provide data via OPC, which fills an important data gap for our packaging customers.”

Equipped to quickly and easily implement basic controller-based motion applications and sequence controls, the new cabinet controller c300 is the most compact small control system with motion functionality in its power range on the market.  The c300 features I/O modules, which can be connected in series, and integrated master interfaces for EtherCAT and CanOpen.

The panel controller p300 is designed for simple to medium complexity control and visualization solutions.  Based on the Lenze panel controller p500, the p300 combines a PLC and superior HMI visualization.  Designed for machine applications requiring low processing power, the p300 features an energy-efficient ARM Cortex-A8-processor with 800MHz clock frequency to provide computing power.  The p300 is available in screen sizes of 10.9cm (4.3″), 17.8cm (7″) and 26.4cm (10.4″).  Suitable for harsh environments, it is equipped with a resistive touch display and available with a customized front foil.

Standard c300 and p300 set-up and data back-up can be performed easily via USB flash drive.  The robust controllers are factory-set with Ethernet and USB connections, with optional PROFIBUS and PROFINET interface connection modules available.  Data and applications are stored on SD card, allowing for quick and easy device replacement.  An integrated UPS with 128Kb memory protects against data loss.  The maintenance-free controllers do not require a buffer battery or fan.  For diagnostic purposes and easy commissioning, a web interface enables direct access to all controller parameters and a central logbook.

“From low to high power ratings, basic to complex control and visualization tasks, in control cabinet and panel versions, our c300 and p300 controllers streamline packaging machine tasks,” adds Dahlquist.
