These include single-failure proof main hoist gear boxes, load balanced redundant rope reeving and redundant brakes including an eddy current back-up brake system – all to minimize uncontrolled motion if a failure occurs. The combination of these features makes Supersafe™ ideal for even the most critical nuclear operations, such as moving spent fuel casks.
