Introducing Kardex SnapVac – A Smarter Way to Clean the AutoStore Grid

Listen to this article

Kardex has announced the launch of Kardex SnapVac (KSV), the first semi-automated cleaning robot designed specifically for AutoStore™ Red Line systems.

SnapVac is engineered to eliminate dust and debris buildup from the top of the AutoStore grid without interrupting operations – helping operators reduce downtime, extend robot lifespan, and ensure clean, safe, and high-performing systems.

“With Kardex SnapVac, we’re delivering a smarter, safer, and more efficient way to maintain grid hygiene,” said Mitch Hayes, President of Kardex Solutions – North America. “It’s a simple upgrade that delivers big results in uptime, compliance, and peace of mind.”

Designed for seamless integration, Kardex SnapVac is compatible with AutoStore R5, R5+, and R5 Pro robots. It features a low-profile bristle tube that captures up to 80% of dust and debris while navigating the grid. Operators benefit from up to four hours of runtime, with real-time visibility through AutoStore’s ServiceConsole.

Key Benefits of Kardex SnapVac:

  • No Downtime Required: Cleans while the AutoStore system continues operating.
  • Automated & Hands-Off: Reduces manual labor and eliminates the need for human grid access.
  • Predictive Maintenance-Ready: Cleaning data is tracked and visualized to support proactive system upkeep.
  • Plug-and-Play Deployment: No reconfiguration or retraining needed.

Limited-Edition Launch

Kardex is offering a limited number of SnapVac units with a 2-year extended warranty and spare parts kit — exclusively to customers who pre-order before August 1st.
