Graphic Products releases two new labeling systems

Graphic Products has released two new labeling systems. Below are more details on the dynamic duo:

The DuraLabel Toro combines a full-sized flip-down keyboard, tilting touch screen, OSHA-ANSI compliance software and a thermal-transfer printer into one durable, mobile standalone unit. Toro was designed and engineered by Graphic Products hardware and software engineers and is completely assembled at the Graphic Products campus in Portland, Oregon. The DuraSuite labeling software pre-installed in the Toro printer was also developed in-house by Graphic Products software engineers.

Toro does not need IT support or connectivity to a computer. No need to plug into an expensive power cart. No extra cords or accessories necessary. All you need is the printer and the removable battery and you can print labels wherever you like.

“We engineered Toro to be network independent because many of our customers needed it,” said DuraLabel chief marketing officer, Steve Stephenson. “Many government agencies and industrial IT departments have strict security rules regarding the connection of peripheral equipment like label printers to their networks. Toro has its own customized software so it doesn’t need a network.”

Network independence plus Toro’s rugged, lightweight design and optional battery power make it perfect for printing labels and signs at several locations within the same facility or even at remote sites. The Toro battery provides the power to print continuous labels for three hours without a charge. Optional Soft-shell and hard shell travel cases are available for taking Toro on the go.

Toro’s embedded software includes QLabel-IV for barcoding, DuraSuite with hundreds of templates and symbols for pipe marking, arc flash, NFPA diamond labels and RTK bar labels and more than 1,300 Common Hazard and PPE symbols. Toro software also lets you create and save your own custom label designs.

Toro’s thermal-transfer label technology produces durable labels and signs from one-half inch to four inches wide at any length needed. Toro prints up to three inches per second at a crisp 300-dot-per-inch resolution giving you high-quality labels and signs fast. No other industrial label printer on the market offers the independence, flexibility and mobility of Toro.

DuraLabel Lobo, a laptop-sized thermal-transfer label printer was designed to meet the needs of general industry, office workers, and field workers. With a rechargeable Lithium-Ion battery providing more than three hours of continuous printing, as well as patented snap-in label cartridges in sizes ranging from .5″ to 2″, the DuraLabel Lobo represents a significant advancement in the “grab ‘n go” label printer field.

Lobo snap-in print cartridges come in a large variety of commonly used colors and types of material, pulling from Graphic Products’ ever-increasing library of supplies. Cartridges contain both ribbon and supply for ease of use, tailored for use in virtually any setting, with supply types designed to stand up to any industrial challenge.

Besides basic type labeling, Lobo has instant access to a library of more than 1,200 symbols and pictograms and basic design templates. The labeler’s firmware allows users to create sequenced numbering and barcodes. The device features a 3.5″ color screen for WYSIWYG editing, a built-in carrying handle, and a full-sized ergonomic QWERTY keyboard.

More than a year in development, Lobo is a radical departure from other DuraLabel thermal transfer printers in design, look and feel.

“We’re heading in a whole new direction with Lobo which aligns with 5S and lean manufacturing. 5S visual cues are used to raise awareness of proper waste handling, managing workplace hazards and explaining operating procedures,” said DuraLabel chief marketing officer, Steve Stephenson.

Lobo’s 12″ square footprint lets users print labels on a desk, or countertop or even in a vehicle. Unlike most thermal transfer label printers on the market, Lobo doesn’t require network connectivity, online connection or even a power cord. Labeling software is pre-installed. Optional accessories include soft case and battery.
