Cyngn announced the successful deployment of its DriveMod Tugger at Coats, the largest full-line wheel service equipment manufacturer in North America.

Cyngn Inc. has announced the successful operational deployment of its DriveMod Tugger at Coats Company, the largest full-line wheel service equipment manufacturer in North America with over 70 years of industry expertise. The deployment is now live at Coats’ 150,000+ square foot manufacturing facility in La Vergne, Tennessee, where Cyngn’s autonomous DriveMod Tugger is automating the transport of wheel service components across production lines.

This follows the announcement in January of this year of the initiation of the production deployment at the site. Since implementation, the autonomous vehicle has already freed up more than 500 hours of labor by reducing manual hauling and enabling team members to focus on higher-value tasks.

“I wish we would have found it sooner,” said Steven Finley, VP of Operations at Coats. “The DriveMod Tugger is a normal part of our operation. The people here enjoy working with it — it provides a consistency to material delivery that they’ve grown accustomed to. It’s safe, it’s secure, it’s efficient, and it really is an easy implementation. Everyone works with it like it’s been an employee here forever.”

This deployment reflects the growing demand for automating high-uptime manufacturing in the automotive sector and illustrates how Cyngn’s DriveMod vehicles integrate into real-world environments to unlock immediate labor and efficiency gains.

“We look for opportunities to do things better, faster, safer — all part of becoming fast and flexible manufacturing,” Finley added. “Cyngn’s Tugger was a great example of that. It does what you want it to do over and over again, and that consistency helps people plan and execute their work more effectively.”

The automotive sector ranked among the top adopters of industrial robotics in 2023, highlighting the growing demand for intelligent automation, particularly in moving heavy parts across manufacturing floors. With this successful deployment, Cyngn continues to deliver scalable autonomous solutions tailored to the evolving demands of the industry.
