Combi announces robotic random case erector

In a collaborative effort,  Combi Packaging Systems LLC and Motion Controls Robotics announced a new robotic solution for end of line packaging operations.

“Increased global competition is driving leaner operations in today’s manufacturing  facilities.  Today, robots are playing a bigger role for case packing and palletizing so it was natural for us to include case erecting into these systems.  The new  RCE Robotic Random Case Erector combines a FANUC M20iA/20 six-axis robot with multiple case magazines and a bottom flap folder with integrated 3M™ tape head.  This system is ideal for fulfillment centers and contract packagers who will realize great savings in eliminating costly downtime of changeovers and solve ergonomic issues by removing manual, repetitive tasks,” said John Fisher, CEO and President of Combi Packaging Systems LLC.

The collaboration between Combi and Motion Controls will give existing and new customers new, cutting edge technology that will enhance productivity on their packaging lines.  And with today’s vision systems, the new robotic case erector can easily incorporate technology to assign, verify or track lot or serialization numbers to cases.
