Cognex announces 9-inch touch screen for its Vision and ID systems

Cognex® Corporation announced the release of the VisionView® 900 industrial operator panel for both In-Sight® vision systems and Ethernet-ready DataMan® barcode readers. The larger nine-inch display allows operators to quickly identify issues on the manufacturing line so they can respond promptly; improving quality and reducing downtime.  The VisionView 900 offers four times the price performance of previous panels as well as the environmental and software capabilities operators expect in an industrial-strength interface. The nine-inch, IP65-rated touch screen allows users to view images and overlay graphics for up to nine In-Sight or DataMan systems simultaneously without requiring a PC on the factory floor.

In addition to viewing inspection results onscreen, operators can easily modify inspection parameters, adjust camera focus and load and save jobs previously configured on the vision system. They can also save images, for subsequent troubleshooting and process optimization, using either the Ethernet network or one of the built-in USB ports. Password protection regulates the operator’s control over regions of interest and vision tool parameters. “The VisionView 900 operator display image update rate now supports lines speeds up to 600 parts per minute,” says Herbert Lade, Vice President and Business Unit Manager, Vision Systems, “while the larger nine-inch format increases the operator’s effective span of control.” The VisionView 900 display joins the existing suite of Cognex visualization options: VisionView PC software has all the operator panel features, plus the flexibility to use any display that can be connected to a PC. ? The VisionView CE software option offers all the standard features and enables operators to view applications using large Rockwell or Siemens CE panels. VisionView VGA provides “control room” viewing of images and results without display size limits. The VisionView VGA adapter supports VGA touch screen displays and displays of different resolutions. The new VisionView 900 panel-mount display is available now.
