CLARK Material Handling Company introduced the new SSERIES forklift trucks, the latest advancement of its “heart of the line” family of internal combustion trucks. The S-SERIES is a “clean sheet” design initiative featuring collaboration among Engineering, Sales & Marketing and end users across North America, Asia, Australia and Europe The S-SERIES is the culmination of three years of global design input, prototyping and rigorous field testing.

Produced in both LPG, dual fuel and diesel configurations the S-SERIES platform is designed for use in all major global markets.

The S-SERIES features SMART STRONG SAFE design elements. SMART design elements include interactive dash, interactive on-board diagnostics, engine/powertrain protection monitoring, built in service tool, on-board reporting of operator controlled functions. STRONG design elements include force-cooled wet disc brakes standard, fully welded heavy gauge frame, nested I-beam upright, sixroller carriage, external side-thrust rollers, stamped steel hood and side panels.

SAFE design elements include automatically applied parking brake, speed limit control, increased visibility from the operator compartment, optional rear-view camera, operator restraint system including high visibility orange seat belt, standard CLARK OPS (Operator Presence System) system and a design that that optimizes the center of gravity to maximize truck stability.

Dennis Lawrence, President and CEO of CLARK commented on the importance of the S-SERIES launch to the North American market, “CLARK has and always will lead the industry with innovative ideas and concepts in the forklifts we design.

The elements of the S-SERIES design ensure that our products remain at the cutting edge of technology. I am very proud of the work our engineering team has done.”

Chuck Moratz, CLARK’s senior vice president of global engineering shared his thoughts on the S-SERIES family, “S-SERIES development started three years ago with a clean-sheet design focused on enhancing the experience of the operator that spends his or her working hours operating a lift truck. With low brake pedal efforts, convenient hood mounted levers, reduced noise and vibration, easy on-off access and many other operator-focused details, the feedback from operators at field test sites is the S-SERIES is the truck they want to drive.”

Like all new equipment products in the CLARK system, the S-SERIES is fully supported in the PartsPRO Plus service support program, CLARK technical publications including operator, service and parts manuals, and through CLARK aftermarket parts.
