Barcoding, Inc. offers open-architecture key management solution

Listen to this article

Barcoding, Inc.  is now offering an open-architecture Key Management Solution to provide users with greater flexibility and customization options for issuing and collecting keys more quickly and efficiently. Sold, deployed and supported by Barcoding, the CaptureTech Key Management Solution uses RFID (radio frequency identification) technology to provide businesses with greater organization, accountability, and security in their key management processes. The open-architecture Key Management Solution combines Gen2 compliant RFID seals, or KeyCops (which hold the keys), making it compatible with any standard reader. Therefore, the solution does not require a physical connection to the seal or an electronic cabinet. Now, users can track keys in and out of buildings – not just in and out of cabinets – to extend the solution’s capabilities beyond the four walls. Plus, with the solution’s free, open-source software, users can further configure and customize their deployment and even add an electronic cabinet, if needed, later on down the road.

Jay Steinmetz, president, Barcoding, Inc., said, “Typical key management systems require an electronic cabinet and leave little room for customization or expansion. This open-architecture Key Management Solution is the first of its kind, putting the power into the hands of the user to design a system that works best to make their business more efficient, accurate and connected.”forte. That is how we each time reach the next level in traceability.
