Appleton Viamaster- LED Linear Luminaires receive certification for use in hazardous locations worldwide

Appleton Group, a division of Emerson Industrial Automation, announced that the Appleton Viamaster Linear LED Luminaire has been certified for NEC/CEC, ATEX/IECEx and NBR IEC markets. As a result, this lighting series can now be specified in oil refineries, petrochemical facilities and other hazardous locations around the globe.

The latest addition to Appleton’s growing LED industrial lighting family, the Viamaster achieves low energy costs and offers superior energy efficiency when compared to a standard HID or fluorescent fixture, plus it promotes greater reliability through minimal maintenance, and enhanced worker productivity. It provides a minimum of 60,000 hours of service life and is backed by an exclusive five-year warranty.

Along with installation in hazardous locations the Viamaster delivers dependable lighting in highly corrosive environments. It is engineered with an IP66 and NEMA 4X rating, making it resistant against water and moisture, so it can be deployed with confidence in marinas or wash down areas.

Maintenance is difficult in most industrial areas, but it can be also be dangerous in hazardous locations. That is why Appleton designed the Viamaster for easier maintenance than standard fixtures by building in features like a hinge access system to reach the terminal block and driver, along with replaceable parts, and captive screws that will not slip out of gloved hands and onto the floor.

The Viamaster can be specified in either two foot or four foot lengths with voltage choices of 120-277 Vac or 347-480 Vac and three unique lumen outputs to meet most application needs.
