Apem introduces the HR series thumbwheel

APEM, Inc., a global manufacturer of high quality man-machine interface products is pleased to announce its HR Series Thumbwheel. The HR series uses proven non-contacting Hall-effect technology to provide highly repeatable linear voltage output. Designed for integration into joystick handles and control grips, the HR Series enables system designers to optimize the ergonomics and efficiency of their control systems.

Featuring spring to center mechanism, the HR series is ergonomically designed for precision finger-tip control making it ideal for repeated operations over long periods. It also features excellent proportional control, stable output, low noise and long life and is designed for panel mount applications as well as joystick integration.

The HR operates with a 5Vdc power supply and is available with one of six output options. Operating temperature ranges from -30 to +70ºC, with a return-to-center tolerance of +/-200mV. Electrical connections are provided via a 140mm 28AWG wire harness fitted with a 7-pin Molex (0510210700 connector on the device for easy installation.

The HR series is a low profile controller measuring only 18.25mm above panel and features an arching wheel design to provide one axis of forward and backward movement. Utilizing two screws for easy rear panel mounting, the, HR series measures only 8.95mm below panel.

APEM’s new HR series provides customers with a wide range of configuration options including wheel color, actuator style and LED backlighting. Ideal applications include panel mount and joystick integration as well as construction, agricultural, and material handling equipment.
