"ACAM" automatically feeds & positions wire connectors

Listen to this article

To remain globally competitive, manufacturers need wire connectors installed in electrical products at the lowest possible price without compromising quality. For high-speed, cost-effective and reliable wire connections, the IDEAL Automatic Connector Application Machine (“ACAM”) performs flawlessly, whether on an assembly line or in a workcell environment. ACAM is specifically-designed for high-volume OEM installation of IDEAL Wire-Nut® connectors, the most trusted wire connectors on the market. ACAM automatically feeds and positions connectors for the fastest application with precise torque control to ensure consistently reliable splices on wires ranging from 22 to 8 AWG. The operator can adjust the torque in 256 increments up to 7 in-lb., eliminating guesswork and preventing under- or over-tightening. Depending on the torque setting, up to 600 splices can be made per hour. ACAM empowers the operator to achieve high-volume output with less fatigue. Its tube-fed applicator reloads connectors in 1.5 seconds while its large connector hopper can be bulk-fed to reduce refill time. The IDEAL ACAM can be used on 110V or 220V power. Optional bench mount/foot switch, adjustable mounting stand, and auxiliary hopper are available.
