NACCO Materials Handling Group (NMHG) announced on Monday, October 19th that Gregory Poole Equipment Company has been appointed as an authorized dealer of Hyster® lift trucks in most of Virginia and in portions of North Carolina, South Carolina and West Virginia, and as an authorized dealer of Yale® lift trucks in portions of North Carolina, South Carolina and Virginia, following its acquisition of the dealer operations of Dougherty Equipment Company, Inc. and VBS Inc. Material Handling Equipment, as well as certain assets of Briggs Equipment, Inc. in North and South Carolina.

As part of a broader agreement, Gregory Poole has sold a portion of the assets acquired from Dougherty, to LiftOne, LLC, an authorized dealer of Hyster® and Yale® products headquartered in Charlotte, N.C.

This series of acquisitions, and the execution of a dealer agreement with Gregory Poole Equipment Company, represent a major and successful restructuring of NMHG’s dealer network for its Hyster® and Yale® brands across multiple states. With these changes, Gregory Poole will transition from its former competitive lift truck supplier relationships, ultimately representing only Hyster and Yale branded lift trucks. Gregory Poole will continue its strong CAT construction, forestry and power generation equipment dealer relationships.

“Today’s announcement represents the culmination of a lot of hard work that’s taken place over the past 24 months,” said Bob Sattler, Vice President of Dealer Business Development for NMHG. “We commend Gregory Poole, LiftOne, Dougherty, VBS and Briggs for their extraordinary efforts and the professionalism demonstrated throughout this transition to ensure continuity for customers and associates. The expansion of our U.S. dual-brand dealer network is integral to our growth strategy, and we are confident that this restructuring will bring greater support and product access to our customers.”

“Gregory Poole is built on the core values of integrity and excellence in all that it does,” stated Hal Ingram, Vice President for Gregory Poole Lift Systems. “As a well-diversified, established corporation with a track record of over 60 years of success, we are proud to now represent one of the largest materials handling manufacturers in the country, ensuring a stable business partner for our customers’ long-term materials handling needs.”
