MHI releases August 2015 industry report
MHI released their MHI Prestige Economics Business Activity Index recently indicating slowed business activity in material handling during August and a sharp contraction in unfilled orders. New orders remained flat while shipments increased in August. Future new orders were the strongest subindes for the third month in a row. Respondents noted a mix of factors that engendered contraction, including a summer slowdown, strong dollar, and uncertainty. Respondents still convey optimism about future new orders over the next 12 months.
