The Material Handling Equipment Distributors Association (MHEDA) successfully concluded its 2025 Emerging Leaders Conference, held July 23–24 at the Viceroy Chicago Hotel. The event brought together nearly 70 rising leaders from across the material handling industry for two days of immersive learning, collaboration, and professional development.

Designed for professionals on their leadership journey, the conference featured a series of high-impact presentations and breakout sessions focused on communication, trust-building, and real-world problem solving.

Highlights of the event included:

  • A keynote presentation from leadership expert Ryan Avery, who delivered powerful strategies on how to build stronger teams, lead with confidence, and inspire others.
  • Interactive workshops on trust and negotiation led by Pamela Barnum, a former undercover officer and prosecutor, who offered practical tools to communicate with impact and build authentic relationships.
  • Small-group peer roundtable discussions, where attendees shared insights, challenges, and leadership strategies in a confidential setting.

In addition to the in-person programming, attendees received access to bonus virtual sessions, including a pre-event LinkedIn masterclass with Brittany Neish and an upcoming post-event follow-up with Ryan Avery to help reinforce lessons learned.

This year’s Emerging Leaders Conference provided a valuable platform for future industry leaders to build connections, develop their skills, and contribute to the future of material handling.

MHEDA thanks all attendees, speakers, and sponsors for making the 2025 event a success and looks forward to continuing to support leadership development through year-round programs and resources.
