The Material Handling Equipment Distributors Association’s 2019 Annual Convention will take place May 4 – 8 at the JW Marriott Desert Ridge Resort in Phoenix, Arizona. MHEDA is honored to welcome former Commander of the USS Benfold Mike Abrashoff as the keynote speaker to kick off the convention. When Abrashoff took command of the USS Benfold, morale was low, turnover was high and the ship’s performance ranked near the bottom of the Pacific Fleet. Just twelve months later Benfold was ranked #1 – using the very same crew. The lesson was clear: leadership matters.
MHEDA’s Convention programming will explore the biggest trends happening today for the material handling business community. Experts and peers will discuss recruiting/retaining the next generation, automation solutions insights, improving manufacturer-distributor relationships, digital marketing and more.
Back by popular demand is “Fishbowl Networking.” Learn from your peers and share your perspective on a variety of current industry issues. Attendees will have the opportunity to choose topics from a fishbowl, and if they don’t like the topic, they can choose another.
The Exhibitor Showcase is bigger than it has been in years; featuring over 90 companies who will be exhibiting, allowing attendees to learn about the latest products and services available in the industry.
Beyond the business and learning, attendees have the opportunity to enjoy local Phoenix attractions. MHEDA is organizing a guided desert hike in the beautiful McDowell Mountains, river float down the Salt River and a Golf Tournament at the Fado Course. Attendees will also have the opportunity to Give Back by packing care kits for the Phoenix Children’s Hospital.
