Make SafetyFOCUS in Las Vegas a New Year’s resolution

Listen to this article

With 2025 approaching, occupational safety and health professionals should make a New Year’s resolution to pursue professional development to advance their careers. An upcoming opportunity from the American Society of Safety Professionals (ASSP) is SafetyFOCUS in Las Vegas. Attendees must register by Dec. 12 to get the best rate.

The SafetyFOCUS in-depth education experience covers a broad range of topics. It helps safety professionals expand their knowledge and skills through collaborative learning to protect worker safety, health and well-being in all industries. The event will take place Feb. 3-7 at the Carpenters International Training Center, with courses running daily from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. PT.

Using case studies, real-life examples and proven successes, expert instructors will explore key issues and provide new perspectives and strategies to help solve workplace safety and health challenges. Held twice each year, SafetyFOCUS is ASSP’s second-largest education event. Unlike a traditional conference, SafetyFOCUS features limited class sizes to maximize engagement and offers learners a chance to dive deep into critical safety topics.

The one-, two- and three-day courses focus on business and leadership skills, certification preparation, risk assessment and management and safety management systems. Many address voluntary national consensus standards that incorporate best practices. Attendees build their own schedule to fit their unique professional development plan, whether they are new to the safety industry or seasoned professional.

Attendees will earn continuing education units (CEUs) that will help them maintain a range of professional certifications. Participants will also expand their professional networks and take away relevant information and practical guidance they can immediately implement to help their organizations prevent worker injuries, illnesses and fatalities while improving overall worker well-being.

Safety and health professionals can register online to get the best available rate. Groups of five or more from the same company can save by contacting ASSP customer service. ASSP members save on registration and get discounts on all of the Society’s education, training, and workplace safety standards.

First-time attendees who have never been an ASSP member will receive a free one-year membership, which includes access to practice specialty and common interest group communities.
