Hyster-Yale Materials Handling parent company recognized in top 35% of companies assessed by EcoVadis

Hyster-Yale Materials Handling announced that its parent company, Hyster-Yale, Inc., has been awarded a 2024 Bronze medal by EcoVadis, an esteemed rating agency specializing in sustainability and corporate social responsibility. This accolade places Hyster-Yale among the top 35% of over 130,000 companies globally assessed by EcoVadis, highlighting its dedication to sustainable practices and continuous improvement.

“As sustainability and related topics get more attention, businesses must improve the transparency of their renewable and efficient practices,” says Don Buckman, Americas Environmental Health and Safety Manager and Corporate Responsibility Leader, Hyster-Yale Materials Handling. “This EcoVadis rating, first submitted for and achieved in 2023 and again in 2024, underscores our ongoing commitment to social, environmental, and economic health in every aspect of our organization, including the communities in which we operate.”

To achieve an EcoVadis medal, companies must undergo a rigorous assessment evaluating their sustainability practices across four key areas: environment, labor and human rights, ethics, and sustainable procurement. This process involves submitting detailed documentation of policies, actions, and results. EcoVadis analysts then review and score submissions, awarding medals based on overall scores and percentile ranks. Medals are valid for one year and must be submitted for annually.

Please note in late May 2024, Hyster-Yale Group was re-named Hyster-Yale Materials Handling, at that same time, its parent company’s name changed from Hyster-Yale Materials Handling to Hyster-Yale, Inc.
