Barnhart has reached a definitive agreement to purchase Sicklesteel Cranes, Inc. of Mount Vernon, Washington. Sicklesteel Cranes, Inc., which has 50 employees and a fleet of 56 cranes, will continue to operate as Sicklesteel but will have full access to Barnhart’s national network of equipment, engineers, and branches. As part of the transaction Barnhart will also be acquiring Pacific Tower Crane, which was an affiliated company of Sicklesteel.

In addition to its Mount Vernon branch, Sicklesteel Cranes, Inc. operated two other locations in Tacoma, Washington and Portland, Oregon. Customers will continue to receive the same high quality crane service and tower crane service they have come to expect. However, through Barnhart’s coast-to-coast network, customers will have access to the nation’s most innovative rigging systems, wind turbine up-tower services project cargo logistics capabilities, and a department of over 40 engineers.

“Sicklesteel Cranes’ reputation and history is one of excellence.” said Alan Barnhart, CEO of Barnhart. “This acquisition will allow customers to receive a broader range of services that should help them lower overall project costs. We think customers throughout the Pacific Northwest will be very pleased with the expansion of services they will experience through this acquisition.”

Barnhart is one of America’s leading lifting and logistics contractors. With a current network of almost 40 facilities, Barnhart provides world-class service through a local presence. Operated crane rental, rigging services, outage planning, specialized solutions for component replacement, industrial storage and national project cargo logistics all combine to ensure Barnhart’s customers receive the lowest total project cost. Barnhart also boasts one of the largest engineering teams in the industry – including a full R&D department – driving innovation across all services. Barnhart is a U.S. company headquartered in Memphis, Tennessee.
