2015 Crane Users Conference in Milwaukee a sellout

Konecranes Crane Users Conference was fully booked two weeks in advance with over 50 attendees registered representing 38 different companies. The event showcased material handling technologies and strategies to help companies stay safe, efficient, productive and profitable. Presenters showed how old cranes could be retrofitted for enhanced safety, productivity and fewer maintenance items, as well as demonstrating what can be accomplished with the latest new crane technology.

We were very excited that the event was fully booked this year,” says event organizer Jim Skowron, Konecranes regional VP sales, service. “Every year our attendance has grown, and we were gratified that customers found the content compelling enough to invest their time to come to Milwaukee and participate. We really appreciate their business and look forward to serving them in any way we can as material handling experts.”

According to Skowron, over 80 percent of the attendees filled out a survey rating their experience at the conference. One of the questions helped to determine the Net Promoter Score, which is a measurement of customer loyalty derived from asking how willing they would be to recommend the event to a colleague or business partner on a scale of 0 to10. The resulting Net Promoter Score was 95.4, which is considered exceptional.

Most of the attendees stayed over after the conclusion of the conference to attend a 4-hour accelerated crane safety course taught by Konecranes Training Institute. The content touched on all of the issues normally covered in the 8-hour format offered at the campus in Milwaukee and by appointment at other locations around the country. The course is normally offered for $435, but for 2015 conference participants it was complimentary.

The Crane Safety Management Course is one of the most popular classes that we teach at the Konecranes Training Institute,” says Jim Lang, general manager of Konecranes Training Institute. “It is ideal for managers who have responsibility for material handling–heads of plants, maintenance departments or safety programs.”

Conference attendees also enjoyed a welcome reception at Miller Park as the Milwaukee Brewers took on the St. Louis Cardinals. Golf and a Harley Davidson Museum tour were additional options for conference participants.

According to Skowron, plans will soon be underway for the 2016 event. Those interested can stay in touch with updates at www.craneconference.com/. The Crane Users Conference is specifically for anyone involved in industries where cranes are part of their processes, such as: aluminium, automotive, energy from waste, intermodal & rail, manufacturing, mining, nuclear, petrochemical, ports, pulp & paper and steel.
